Wolrd Cup Fans Please Explain

So there have been two famous head-butts in this world cup. One bump happened to a guy on the ground looking up and the other came from a teammate.






What I don't get is why neither recipient of the headbutt did not fall over like they do when someone's wrist brushes the back of their jersey or someone's ankle getting relatively close to an opponents foot. What gives?


I also think Pepe's head-butt was pretty wicked. The replay shows he was fouled just as hard as he fouled the other guy. if I was him I would have got in his face too about how much of a baby he was being. Perhaps there is a way of saying "man up" without placing your forehead on someone.
