I went to the movies last week and saw the documentary 'Fed Up', which is about the obesity crisis and the food industry. Has anyone else gone out to see this documentary, and if so, what did you think?

I haven't seen that one. Is this an independent film? When did it release? I'm wondering if I still have time to try and find it. I have seen most of the other ones on Netflix like Food Inc, Forks over Knives , Hungry for Change and Vegucated. Netflix has a plethora of different documentaries a lot of them based on the food industry, obesity, chronic illness that stems from genetically modified food and the like.
  • Yeah, it's an independent film. It was released like three weeks ago, I do believe. :)

I looooooove me some Netflix documentaries too! Haha

Heard about it & purchased from Amazon last week & watched it with my sister this past Sunday. We both enjoyed it. What an eye opener!! Everyone should see this film & it should be shown in school to all the kids as well. It will make you want to eat healthy.

I am not a conspiracy theorist who takes nutritional advice from a sensationalist documentary, and Lustig claims have been called in to question by numerous sources.

There is no cause so right that one cannot find a fool following it.

This film changed my thinking on sugar and refined foods. For the first time in my life I'm not struggling with food cravings and I am steadily losing weight. I also read Fat Chance, by Dr. Robert Lustig, an excellent and scientifically backed explanation why sugar wrecks havoc on our western diet. As cookbook author Mark Bittman explained, government and the big food companies don't push a whole foods diet because there is no money in it. The money is made with cheap manufacturing labor, chemical engineering of refined foods and sugar.
