    Why is it, as of late, everyone keeps ruining these by dumping giardinera on top? Green peppers, yes. Onions, maybe. But celery and carrots? No effing way...

    I keep seeing that and that horrible canned peas and carrots mixture. :sick:

    That's how ya do it. Then you're practicing "mindful eating," thereby it counts as healthy. Oh, and it's healthy because it's Italian, which is Mediterranean, which, as we know, is a healthy diet. Therefore, eating Italian Beef = healthy = the secret to rapid fat loss. :tongue:

    Everybody loves their regional cuisine and thinks it's the best. I went through Buffalo recently and had a "beef on weck". Talk about a disappointment!

    That sammich looks good, but I'd rather have a lobstah roll.

    I'm not from Chicago, but I come from an Italian family. My guess if it has the peppers, celery, soybean oil, cauliflower, carrots, olives, vinegar, water, salt and other spices then it is Giardiniera.
