Elissa Goodman Cleanse

Has anyone tried this? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. I saw that there was a special on a 21 day cleanse with erewhon through gilt city LA and thought it might be worth checking out.

Anything that claims it is a "cleanse" or that it "jump starts" your metabolism is full of crap. That said, it is up to you if you want to waste your money.

You don't need to cleanse anything. Your kidney and liver do a wonderful job.

At best it's a glorified laxative and at worst it's a total and complete scam.

Leave the cleanses to the fad dieters and let your liver and kidneys do their job.

hmmmm, the answer is still NO. Cleanses are a waste of time. Your liver and kidneys do a wonderful job cleansing your body. You money would be better spend hitting up the grocery store and buying a variety of healthy foods. Don't fall for gimmicks.

And? Cleanses are still "bull-ploppers". Nutritionists aren't experts.

The human body does not requiring a 'cleanse' to get rid of vague 'toxins'.

    Do you seriously believe this?
Elissa Goodman is a holistic nutritionist and cleanse expert living and working in Los Angeles. She found that food and self-love was the best medicine when she cured herself of Hodgkins Lymphoma by changing what she ate and taking care of herself with some de-stressing and soul searching. On top of seeing personal clients, Elissa is the proud creator of I Am Cleansed with Café Gratitude, RESET Your Life with M Café and has exclusive juices selling at Erewhon Natural Market.

You don't get the sense that this is complete twaddle?

actually, i'm not sure it's twaddle, though I'm not sure a cleanse can cure cancer. Wouldn't post it if I thought it was twaddle. some of the responses here are kind of weirdly mean, since I'm asking for advice, not to be made fun of.

I shop sometimes at Erewhon, and i do think that there is some very healthy stuff there. I'm wondering if anyone who posted a quick response took some time to look at her recipes.

    thanks!

Unfortunately one doesn't need to do much but pass a test by a sponsoring organization to be a certified nutritionist. A registered dietician is a better choice since they are licensed and have a major/minor in dietetics and/or nutrition. Personally I've never met an RD yet that promotes any cleanses since physiologically wise, no food or drink actually cleanses the body of anything.

Did you know that the word gullible has been removed from the latest edition of the Oxford English Dictionary?

People aren't making fun of you - they are making fun of detoxes and cleanses because they really are comical.

You didn't touch a nerve. We're just tired of seeing posts about detoxes and cleanses. They don't work. Any weight lost is water weight that will come back when you go back to eating and drinking normally. Our organs cleanse our insides daily. There is no need for anything else. I don't know why you aren't understanding this. It's common sense.
