Does your six pack count if you have to flex to see it?

-meaning most likely real six packs are in the sub 8% body fat (for men) terrain-

    I was talking to a guy in WAY better shape then me (8% body fat he claimed) and he said that a real six pack is one that is there all the time - and I will humbly say I'm not even close to that. - I was just wondering what 'da' rule of thumb is on this.
