All the weight I lost I've pretty much lost through diet and exercise and its taken me about 6 months.
My friend stops eating and starts drinking nothing but some chili powder for 30 days a loses 80lbs.

I just don't get it =/

That CAN"T be healthy. You're better off in the long run.
  • That seems kinda extreme, since most of the people that do that are loosing and then gain it and more back. If you have hit a plataeu, you might want to try a cleanse and kick start your metabloism. But the chilli powder seems fadish and a bit unrealistic...

80lbs in one month????? How is that even possible. I am very anti fasting for a couple of reasons. Number one I could never last that long and if by some off chance I did by the time it was done I would end up gaining it all back due to not learning how to lose weight in a healthy maintainable manner. Number two it can't possibly good good for your body in the long run to deprieve yourself of food like that. Not to mention how crabby I would be.

    Just my thoughts.

Fasting really isn't healthy for your body. Your body needs calories and nutrition to keep functioning properly. A healthy diet and exercise are the best way to lose weight, even if it takes longer than you want.

    That's what I said :noway: unless he's bs'ing me. 300 to 220 hmm.
But he looks very slim now I dont know about healthy but just by looking he's skinny.
I was kind taken back a bit.

I've heard about all types of fast but never tried it cause I love food.
If I dont eat I'm a very angry person and I just wouldn't do it.

I bet that's the Master Cleanse diet. They will gain it back and will gain more fat on top of that. They went ahead and slowed down their metabolism. Their muscle was compromised. Tell your friend to keep their fat clothes.
  • There are many different ways of fasting and cleansing out there. It sounds like your friend may be doing something called The Master Cleanse. Friends of mine do that. I think it's lemon juice, cayenne pepper and a couple other things. The idea isn't necessarily that you're supposed to lose weight from doing this (even though it's probably going to happen). You're getting rid of the toxins from your body and letting it rest by not feeding it things that are difficult to digest. When you're finished, you're not supposed to go back to eating the same foods you did before that caused your body to be toxic. The more reputable fasts and cleanse programs will let you eat small amounts of fruits and vegetables while you're doing them. That way you're not actually starving your body and causing more distress than eating badly would cause.

I've never tried fasting or any of the cleanses and doubt I ever will, but my friends swear by them. Just be careful.

Dear friend you are doing it the RIGHT way!!! That is just unbelievable that he has lost that weight! Bittersweet since I am sure he feels better with the weight loss but so unhealthy! I also had a friend who lost her weight fast and I was just slowly plugging along....guess who gained her weight back?
I've seen your food diary and you eat very healthy....I am very impressed!!! Keep up the AMAZING work!!! You inspire me!!!
