Color Me Rad & HRM

Hello all, I am doing my first 5k tomorrow, Color Me Rad. I was wondering if anyone who's done one of these kinds of races knows if its safe to wear a HRM during to keep track of time and calories burned. I know it's not a timed event or anything but I'm still kind of curious. I'm fine being without it if the dust will damage the watch or the sensor. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I wore mine - the inside of my white watchband is still pink two years later.
I figured the band was under my sports bra and my shirt, so no worries there (even though color DOES manage to get EVERYWHERE!), and my watch is waterproof, and didn't seem to be a problem with either the powder or liquid color I got hit with. I did put my phone in a ziploc in a small waist pack.
But I'm still using the same HRM with no issues. Have fun - Color Me Rad was a lot of fun.0 -
Thanks for responding. I was thinking that it would probably be ok since it is waterproof, I have the Polar FT 60. I just wanted to know that someone else has tried it and it all was ok!0
