This is serious

I'm not much of a joiner but I haven't been able to make progress on my own so here I am. I hit bottom today emotionally after receiving a call from the Transplant Center in San Diego. After three months of rigorous testing to qualify for the Lung Transplant list, they told me today that I am a good candidate BUT I have to lose 20 pounds in three months or they won't let me on the list. In other words, do or die.

I'm 58 yo woman who can't exercise much at all due to end stage lung disease so diet is my only real hope. My goal for now is to reach 145 lbs by mid-September. Another 20 lbs after that would be ideal but the first 20 is essential. I hope this program works.

    That's a 1.5lb/ week loss.
A 5250 per week calorie deficit
That's 750 calories per day deficit.

    Not bad.

Enter the information I gave you into that calculator.

    Eat that much per day.
If you can, walk a little more than you usually do.

You can do it, I have faith in you.

You can do it!! And it does work :-)
Set a reasonable but responsible deficit, get a food scale weigh and measure all foods, and log it :-)

    Thanks Herk -
The breakdown is very helpful. And the encouragement is appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestion Thorsmom. I'll look for a scale on Amazon.
