I'm 23 years old and I've recently been diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease. I've always been a healthy person, aside from my asthma, and I would usually work out 2-3 times a week. Since I've been diagnosed, I've been going to the gym every day except for Wednesdays, which is when I take my niece for a few hours and chase her around a park. At the gym, I run for at least an hour (almost 5 miles) and then do some additional excersizes and weight training for 30-40 minutes. The only challenge with that is my asthma (EIA), but that's slowly getting better.
I'm really just trying to get healthier by being more active and eating better so I can keep my blood pressure down with out medication and hopefully put off dialysis and a kidney transplant for several years. My diagnosis isn't great, so I'm just trying to live better and this site has been really helpful so far.

Yes, my grandfather passed away from it in his 70's and my father had heart and kidney failure earlier this year. He's in his late 40's. My father does not live a healthy life and my PKD is more advanced than his was, so I'm trying to stay a step ahead. And I do the PKD Walk here in San Diego too! =]0
