Sorting out 20 years worth of clothes !!

I have made a start on sorting out my clothes, now that I am within 2 lbs of my weight loss journey, I have lost 75 lbs up to now and have clothes in my wardrobes from a uk size 18 (which is what was tight on me, when I started ) to a size 8 ( that seems to fit fine now ).
It is fun sorting out and I'm sure the calories burned, with all the stretching you do, must amass to quite a lot - it's funny though, the clothes that I used to wear and thought I looked ok in, I look at now and think I must have looked 20 years older.
Have your ideas changed now you have lost weight ? Or do you still like the same sorts of clothes ?

I've done a similar thing, but in my case I had been the same size for the past 20 yrs. I've already donated more than a dozen boxes of clothes and there's still more to go through. I kept stuff because it fit, not because it actually looked good on me. Plus size fashion is a misnomer for the style they think larger ladies want to wear.
As I've replaced my wardrobe, I've been trying to select nicer, well fitting pieces for work especially. I've gotten some brighter colors, and in some cases, more form fitting tops but there's not been a drastic change. (I've always preferred to "hide" in dark colors and baggy shirts.)
What surprised me most was that my shoes don't fit anymore. Clothes make sense, but shoes? I've gotten my summer wardrobe now but will have to buy all new again when colder weather arrives as none of my coats or sweaters fit either. It's a problem I don't mind having. :happy:0 -
My son and I were cleaning the attic. I held up a little crop-top shorts outfit from the 1980s. I said, "I may be this thin again, but I will never be this young again!"0

I want to sort out 20 years worth of clothes too! For now I have to deal with what I have. Only 15 pounds down, I only have three pairs of jeans that are too droopy to wear anymore. I am so looking forward to buying thrift shop clothes soon as I transition to smaller sizes. Today I am wearing a pair of capris that haven't fit in over two years. Yeah me!
I hate most of the clothes I own because I don't have them because they look nice on me or I like them. I have them because they are what fit on me. Yuck!
Looking forward not backwards! In a couple weeks I will be in the thrift shop scoring smaller clothes. Go me and all of you on our good lifestyle journeys!0 -
UK here too. Bit disappointed that some of my reliable size 12 clothes no longer look smart for work. But what do you do when you're half way to your goal? Make do? Buy new? So far I'm doing a bit of both.
Tomorrow I'm chucking out my winter size 12s, so I have another motivation to stick with this.
Congratulations on your achievement.0
