Hi P90X'rs,
Im finishing the 1st phase of P90X on friday and am so glad because I REALLY have a hard time keeping up with so much protein. I was wondering, the nutrition guide doesn't say...what are the percentages of protein/carbs/fat for the 2nd phase?
BRING IT!!!

In your guidebook, it will detail it for you; did you get one?

I did, but it doesnt give percentages like the first phase (50% protein, 30% carbs and 20% fat).0 -
Honestly, I would shoot for 40% protein with 20% fat. Also, don't try to eat all the calories that P90X suggests for your weight and height. Sure, eat back some of your exercise calories but don't eat them all back.0

Yep, I agree with edorice.0

Im 5'5 and about 125lb, I eat about 1400 cals a day even though P90X asks 1750 of me. Is that ok?0 -
I actually consumed about 1500-1600 during my phase II and I"m the same height as you. Because in phase II, your body is going to need more energy, so don't be afraid to up it a little. I also base it on what workout I do too because on my resistence days, I can eat more than I do on my cardio days.0

I really try, but since Im a vegetarian I have a hard time eating calories without going over the top with my carbs. Thats what I am most afraid of: over-carbing! If it weren't for that I would probably be eating more cals, but I feel fine the way it is...and now that I get to eat more carbs, consequently my cals will go up!
Thanks a lot for your help girls...0 -
I'm currently doing a hybrid of the X with the Insanity workout. I'm trying to keep the carbs lower. I started using BSN Lean Dessert protein shakes with almond milk. They taste great and has 21 grams of protein.0

It actually does say. :flowerforyou:
Phase 2 is balanced approximately equal for carbs and protein at 40% each keeping fat at 20%. Actually, fat is kept the same in all phases of the P90X diet.0 -

I would say that is too low. Even if you use the MFP method, you still need more than 1400. MFP has me at 1210 when I am not exercising. My HRM says I burn between 500-650 per P90X workout. So adding those back, I should get at least 1710. With that said, I never eat all of the exercise calories, I eat *most* of them. So I tend to eat 1500-1600 per day while doing P90X, Insanity, or any hybrid thereof (I've done a couple of different hybrids over the past couple of years). Anything less than that, and even though I lose weight at first, after a month or so passes, I have zero energy to even get out of bed...and my weight loss stops. I am 5'5" tall and have been eating that amount between weights 150 and 128, whatever I happen to weigh at that given time, lol. I am currently teetering at the high end of the 130s, which is why I am doing Insanity now.0
