Diarrhea...sorry :)

OK, question.

It all happens to us...diarrhea. How do you count those calories? For example, I had miso soup last night and then an eel avocado roll and half an order of rice. Half way thru my roll and rice, I had to run to the bathroom for well, you know. Sometimes miso soup does that to me. I finished the half of my rice and roll.

Would you count the calories from the miso soup? I had physical proof it didn't stay in me. I found myself quite hungry only a bit later. How do you handle this calorie wise?

Charlene

PS- I am so sorry for the disgusting image, but this happens to me often enough to worry about it. (Not just from miso soup)

Have you been to a doctor if it happens often?

No. But I am not concerned about it. I travel- probably caused by changes in water.

Log it like normal and if you are still hungry after hitting your total for the day, add in a couple hundred extra calories.

If you are actually sick though, not just irritated from what you ate, then eat as many calories as your body feels it needs. My opinion.

It really doesn't happen that fast... it's probably something you ate a couple hours before. Or something's really wrong with your digestive system... So yeah... log it.

This. I don't think the miso is already through your system and coming out by then. It's whatever you ate earlier in the day, which has already been digested and is through the system a little further along. Log it all, but if you're sick and need more to recoup, then have a little more of something.

Food doesn't go through the digestive track that quickly. I would log all of it, and eat if you truly are hungry later on.
Now, if you had vomited it up...I'd still say log it, since there's know way to accurately know how much your body processed before you upchucked.

Log as normal; its hard when you travel out of the country but when in the states I only drink bottle water and specific brands when possible...Im fussy, lol.

log as normal, it's been through your digestive system (albeit too quickly and the water from the food hasn't been removed) so you will have taken some nutritional value from it that you will need to account for!!
