1200 to 1600 stories?

Hi! I finally "bit the billet" and upped from 1200 to about 1600, because I was still loosing on 1200. I'm a tad panic'ed because I don't have a scale at the moment and cannot weigh to make sure I am not gaining. Anyone have any stories to share in favor of this increase? Could I actually gain on this amount? I'm 5'3, 18 year old female who doesn't really exercise appose from day to day errands and walking.

CC says for lightly active 1580 but, since I'm upping 400 calories at once would reverse and keep gaining?

I wouldn't advise 1600 without exercise for you because I know 1600 for me is maintenance and we're about the same height.
I'm currently following 1200 diet right now and whenever I up it to 1600 I don't lose any weight.
if you want to go for 1600 do it with exercise

1680 net is my maintinance. On days I work out I am eating 2100 calories at times. I think you should be able to maintain at 1600 but all you can do is try it. Weigh yourself (buy a scale?) And if you start gaining cut to 1500 and just play with the numbers untill you find what works for you.

I lost the majority of my weight on 1200-1300/day net. Now I'm maintaining at about 1900/day net. You might gain a few lbs but that's just glycogen, it will come off in a few weeks, just be patient!!!!

Any particular reason you picked 1600 calories?

I seriously doubt you will gain on 1600. I don't gain at 2200! Anyway, just be sure the weigh and measure everything that you eat to make sure your logging correctly, and you'll be fine

steveec285: myfitnesspal said for me lightly active was 1580 so I went with that!
Animalldy: did you up all at once and were you exercising?

I upped it to about 1500 for a while, then kept at 1800 for a while but I kept losing, then up to 1900 (net calories). Yes, I have always exercised 3-4x a week plus walks. Now I don't eat exercise cals back and I do TDEE method, I'm eating about 2100-2200cals/day.

Check out the web site eat more to weight less. Totally different thought process about this, especially the 1200 calories, which is too low for people work out hard!
