body fat percentage

i got my BF % checked in april and it was 17%. 5'5, 115 pounds. I'm planning on getting it checked again before ramadan so i know where I stand. What do you think is the best time to get it done? I had my cheat meal(okay..turned into a cheat day) today so what would you guys suggest?

If you get your BF % checked before a 2000 calorie meal and after it will be the same. The body doesn't store food that fast it takes time just like it takes time to get rid of it. So get it checked at your best convenience.

Actually it completely depends on how you are getting your body fat tested.

I'm getting my body fat tested via hydrostatic body fat test, where they dunk you under water. In this case, you can't eat or drink 4 hours before the test and you can't exercise or consume caffeine for the entire day of the test.

But, you can eat a 2,000 calorie meal the day before a hydrostatic body fat test and it will be fine.

I have had several tests done at my gym. The rules are ... no meals and no exercise for at least 2 hours before the test.

But .. yes depends on the type of testing done so check out the details re the type of testing you are having done.

Personally .. I think that the Dexa scan is the gold standard now and most accurate.
