days or weeks?

ok, bear with me.
my daily target is 1200 cals. so that makes 10,500 in the week( i think!!). and i know that you need to loose 500 cals a day to drop 1-2 lbs a week. which is already taken into account on the 1200.
so my question is. say one day i have a bad day and have 2500 cals, then over the rest of the week i adjust it so that i have the 10,500 by the end of the week, could that still equate to a loss of weight?

I am no expert. Although everything I read says do not go below 1200. If you have a bad day, oh well. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and commit to do better. Shorting yourself one day because the night before you splurged is so unhealthy. Poor eating habits is what got us where we are. The only way to succeed longterm, is to learn proper eating habits.0

Mathematically, yes. That would give you thevsame weight loss.
If I was in this situation, I would go back to 1200 per day and just not lose the 1/3-1/4 lb that the extra calories represent. I think I'd be more successful in the long term that way, instead of trying to have some very low cal days. Think lifestyle change instead of short term goals.0 -
If you are exercising on a regular basis I think 1 or 2 days of overeating is a good thing. This gives your muscles a chance to grow. Still, I don't think eating over double your calories in one day is a good thing. With that much of an overage I wouldn't try to compensate for it in one week but rather spread it out over 2.
I tend to agree with what elainegsd said. Just go back to your 1200 per day and just focus on the long term.0
