Hi, I'm new to this site but am very excited about it. I used to diet religiously in my early 20s and did all my calorie counting by hand, so this site is an amazing tool. However, this brings me to my current status. Since I was about 24 I have hovered between 130 and 140lbs....which may not be bad.....but I feel very unsexy as my ideal weight is 115-120lbs (I've been there before and miss it very much). I've had a decrease in energy in my late 20s as well as a lack of motivation to begin calorie counting again.....I find it very frustrating that I seem to struggle with maintaining my weight while close, ectotherm friends seem to eat whatever they want (I have a room mate that made cookies last night......and I ended up eating 6 of them in one sitting). This isn't a normal part of my diet....I try to eat a balanced diet full of variety but I do have a sweet tooth that I would like to get under better control......But mainly, I need help in the motivation department. I love my body and figure and want to make it better, but I find that my focus/motivation/control wanes during the month.....do other women deal with this.....how can I maintain my focus/motivation.
Thank you for reading!

Focus on doing your best TODAY and don't fret about what you did yesterday, because you can't change the past. There's not a single person who hasn't or doesn't go through motivation issues. I have a mantra that I like to follow when i'm grumbling about going to the gym or other diet-related blah moments.....
JUST DO IT
"It" being....get your workout done and over with.
If you want a cookie, have ONE cookie. If you want more, ask yourself why do you want more? Why do you need it? Are you hungry? Eat something better than a cookie.
It basically boils down to self control, your will, and your desire to succeed. Challenge yourself....its a matter of weighing what's more important for you - 6 cookies? Or feeling good because you said NO?0 -
I am 31, also 5'3", my goal weight however is 140. I have a thick body frame, big butt, big thighs, so I dont think going lower than 140 would look right on me. When I was getting married I weighed 140 and people thought I looked anorexic, lol...Anyway I am 16 pounds away from my goal. I do alot of weight training, so I know I am losing inches more than pounds, thats how my body works, but as long as I look sexy in my clothes, and they feel loose fitting, I am good.
Anyway, I have a sweet tooth as well, so I try very hard to restrict myself to a treat on Sundays only, its hard, but I am getting better at it.
Goodluck on your journey.0
