How low is too low?

My calorie goal on MFP is 1200 per day, I never ever hit this and most days I struggle to hit 1000 cals. I know this is quite low but I struggle to hit any more than this. If I do get close to 1200 I feel as though I'm overeating and the only time I hit that much is if I eat out or having a bit of a treat. I know this is too low but I'm not sure how to get it up any higher? Before starting to change my diet I was probably eating around 3000 cals a day so this is a huge drop for me. Any ideas???

Do you feel as if your eating too much because you feel full, or is it a psychological thing?

If it's because your full, try throwing in a few calories dense foods, like a hand full of nuts, or an avocado etc to each your daily goals.

If it's psychological, you may need to take some time to work through these feelings. It could be the start of a slippery road. Focus on being healthy instead of just losing weight, and this includes making sure you don't go from over eating to under eating, and are getting enough fuel for your body.

    Good luck (:

In your other thread you said that you were 'quite overweight' but didn't say how much so. 1200 kcal might be too low a target.

Do you have somebody close to you you feel comfortable talking to? A Doctor or Therapist perhaps. A lot of the impediment to eating to target can me psychological and are best dealt with professionally.
