Longer Skirt

Out of curiosity does anybody elses skirts seem to be longer during their weight loss? Let me explain.

I wear a knee length skirt every Monday. When I started the journey the skirt settled about at the same height as my hipbone to reach my knees. Today the skirt is pull up almost to my bra just to keep it at regulation length. Luckily I can wear an untucked shirt over it so I don't look too dorky, but was wondering if anyone else has experienced this and/or has an explanation has to why this might being occuring. I am holding out on buying a new skirt until I can fit into a size 10 (because the skirt is crazy expensive to be an interim item).

it can be explained through angles and all that fun stuff, but basically you're smaller width wise so more material drapes downward instead of having to go outwards.

if you know trig at all then think of the hypotenuse of a triangle vs. its vertical component

Is there a particular reason why I am only noticing it on this skirt? My jeans are looser but not longer, same for my shorts and dresses.

You won't notice it on pants of any sort because of the complex single surface formed by the fabric.

To put it simply (because my understanding of topography isn't good enough for the technical explanation) a skirt is effectively a simple tube that can drape down over your hips and legs while the more complicated shape of the jeans (how the inseam is suspended from the waistband) prevents the lengthening from waistband to hem.
