I am starting the Atkins Diet and the Atkins app is not as easy to use as MFP. Is their a recommended app that people are using for Atkins or how is the best way to track Atkins using MFP?

change your macro to a low carb percent for starters
  • Not sure how to be changing macros. I went into goals and tried to change the percentages and decreased carbs to 15%. Not sure what the percentage should be on the protein and fats. Since i am on the induction phase the 15% carbs less the 21 g of fiber it was calculating should net a bit over their recommended 20% carbs. Is there a more accurate way to do this?

MFP does not track active carbs itself, but there have been lots of users doing atkins on here. You would set your carbs based on the atkins plan and then when you log foods make sure you chose entries that specify they recorded them using the net carbs or create your own entry using them (and specify in the titile so future users know).

Otherwise, you can set your diary to show carbs and fiber, use normal entries, and just subtract your fiber from your carbs yourself to know if you are staying within your net carbs goal.
