Unflattering gym kit issues?

OK ladies, does anyone else suffer from this... My gym bottoms are really unflattering around the crotch area?! They seem to ride up towards my waist and get too tight around my hips. My body shape doesn't help. I'm hourglass so my hip, butt and thigh area is considerably larger than my waistline. Which means my gym bottoms constantly ride up towards my waist. I can't really do much about this because changing sizes doesn't help as the size will always be (too big for waist or too small for hips). Which seems to result in tightness around the crotch... Is there anything I can do? Could it be an underwear issue?
Thanks!

(Before everyone says forget it and work out - I DO! But if I can solve it that's even better)

either you ignore how you look in them (unless you actually want to nail one of the guys at the gym) or you get yoga pants. :)

edit: you are kind of the shape i am right now. maybe a bit smaller. definitely go with yoga pants. they are amazing. that is all

I wear form-fitting pants with a tie at the waistband. and hanes, because they offer a "100% wedgie-free guarantee." :p I'm sure I still get the camel-toe look, but at least my pants stay where they need to. :)

    best of luck!

I wear fitted capris pants- there is some riding up- but they mostly stay put.

My *kitten* loves to eat underwear and- well all things- so having pants that go below the knee to prevent the whole she-bang from going north is helpful.

If I wear booty shorts (and I occasional do)... I just suck it up that I'm going to have camel toe- and I look like I'm wearing advanced lifter granny panties. That's just life.

I wear fitted capri pants. They have a string that helps keep them in place when I am leaner and they don't seem to shift.

If you really can't find anything else - actual bike shorts work. I've lifted after cycling and they work like a charm, higher back so no peeking when bent over, no need for undies, and they are made for people who have meatier thighs & glutes from biking. Absolutely no crawling up. I'm fairly curvy too and always have issues with the waist being too big if it fits in the hips. I have an 11.5 inch difference between my waist & my hips.

All I can advise is to try a different cut of garment. Anything really short just rides up on me - there's nothing I can do about it. So I pick things that are a little longer, and it solves the problem.

Fitted/stretch Capri running pants with grip around the waist and calves so they stay put.. They will giveyou a wedge if biking 11 + miles... But what won't??!?! But fantastic for running!

Lycra capris. No riding, they sit at my waist so no plumbers crack and they hide the crepey skin above my knees when I'm moving. I have 6 pairs of the exact same thing-wish I had more since they don't make them anymore!

I'm a bigger bottomed gal myself. I might not be able to solve how your pants fit, but there is a cute, practical way to camouflage it.

They can be worn over any pants, capris, or shorts that you already have. Very versatile.

The same skirt will fit sizes 2-14 using an ingenious snap system. Both smaller and larger versions are available. http://sweetspotskirts.com/pages/sizing

They also offer shorts which they call panties. They never ever ride up. I've run in mine all summer.

Made in the USA in Vancouver, Washington.
