I was one of the people who thought they were burning 1000 calories in an hour on the elliptical. I enter my weight in the machine and crank up the peddle intensity. I wasn't seeing results like i thought. I was expecting to lose at least a pound a week. I purchased a strapless Mio watch ( model M3W26P3C2L3). I entered my height, age, weight, low and high heart rate, and stride (take 10 steps, measure inches, divide by 10 to calculate stride.) I have triple-checked that I entered the information accurately in the watch. I'm only burning 260 calories in an hour on the elliptical GAASSSSP!!!! :brokenheart:
Finally my question. The heart rate monitor doesn't account for the level of intensity on the elliptical, I'm really busting my hump! Do you think a more expensive heart monitor with a strap will tell a different story!? Come on! That's a huge difference.
