my most recent let down was with a medication change that lead to me gaining 15 pounds in two weeks
i feel like that just cant be healthy
and i just feel so defeated because ive tried to get it off
but nothings changed
i mean ill lose two or three pounds at most
but then gain it right back after a week
i feel like as long as im still on this medication nothing is really gonna change
and im just at a lose for what to do ? ?
tl;dr if anyone has been in this situation before and has made it out your way out of it your input would be greatly appreciated

I totally understand this. I have to take a lot of pills to manage my heath problems and my mental illness. I gained about 20 to 30 pounds at one point due to the meds I was taking.
I admit the only thing that has helped is speaking frankly to my doctor that I can't be prescribed anything that makes me gain weight (mostly due to a history of eating disorders) Because those types of pills are all related to my bipolar order, there are a lot of options out there to try. It wasn't fun testing stuff out, but in the end I am on 5 meds for my illness that only have mild side effects (hands trembling, stuff like that).
In terms of my other health problems, there aren't a lot of options, so I just have to deal.
It's really hard navigating medical needs on top of trying to do lose weight. If there is a chance you could try another med, perhaps your doctor can prescribe something different.
In terms of losing weight/regaining some of my health, I follow MFP guidelines and other health sites. Even if you think there's no hope for you, I promise there is. Work closely with your doctor, but don't give up your weight loss efforts. The weight might come off very slowly, but every step forward counts.0 -
Talk to your doctor about a different medication. There may be an alternative medication that will do the same thing you need but without that side effect.0
