Im really confused about my calories. I go to the gym 5 days a week, plus walk my dog two miles a day. I do my cardio and weight training and Im burning roughly 1,000-1100 calories a day. My calorie intake is 1290 with MFP, I usually hit the intake or go over maybe a 100. Ive been doing this same routine since March and Ive lost 45 lbs. But now Im at a stand still. I'm wondering if Im eating less calories then I should be. MFP always tells me Im under when I finish my diary for the day. I dont get it, is my body telling me its starving? Should I slow down on my workout? Please help!

I bet you are not eating enough! if you are hitting the gym that often and burning all those calories I bet you need more food!!!0

Are you logging your calories burned? If you did, then you would see that you should be eating 1290 + those 1000 calories from exercise...meaning you should be eating much much more than 1290 since you are working off that many calories.
Read the FAQ about eating back your exercise calories and you will find out why it is so important.0 -
Are you eating the extra calories they factor in after your workouts? If so, I'd say you're most likely getting enough. If you're only eating the 1,200 caloris initially given to you for a day and that's it, I'd say you need to up your food intake. Way to go losing 45 pounds though That's amazing!0

So its telling me now, that I've earned 1054 calories today. I'm suppose to eat all of those. I thought that would make me not lose weight if I did and I would feel like a pig. I always thought I was just suppose to eat the calories they told me. Thats how I did it before and all this weight just poured off. Guess it got tired of starving. Well thankyou ladies for the help. I will eat the extras and see how that goes.0

But you don't necessarily need to eat ALL of them back. I normally burn 600 or so...so that brings my total daily to around 1800. I normally eat 1500-1600, but that is definitely not the original 1200 and I am not getting that stuff your face full o' food feeling either. I lost 3 pounds this past couple of weeks.
Good luck!0 -
You don't have to eat all of them! Try 1/3 to 1/2 of them first and see where you go. If you jump 1000 all of a sudden you may throw your body into mass confusion and it will hold onto all of them. If you have been using the 1200 base cals a day you have slowed your metabolism down. If you gain a couple pounds the first week or two don't worry about it, they will come off quick once your metabolism stabalizes.0

Well thankyou, this makes more sense then the other stuff I was reading. I hope this works, cause this last 32 lbs feels like its going to be harder to get off. Im going try other things to boost my metabolism too. Spicy food works real well! Thanks again!!0

I would try eating about half of the exercise calories.0
