Figured I'd take a poll to see what everyone here uses as coping skills. I tend to sleep. You?

Coping from what?
If people annoy the crap out of me, I have to breathe. I'm less likely to punch them in the face if I breathe.
If it's stress related, I try to listen to music or go for massage to relax me.0 -
stress in general - music....
really awful personal crap, lately its been smoking.... go ahead and yell at me... i KNOW ..... :smokin:0 -
Some days, you take it a day at a time. Some times, you take it an hour at at time. Some times, you take it a minute at a time.
When the **** hits the fan, take it a second at a time.
Break it down into parts you can manage, and justify it to no one.
Repeat as needed, applies to anything.
Works well for me0 -
Go out for a walk, dance, do housework. Usually when I'm very upset I can't sleep well and can't eat so it's no solution... And sleeping/doing nothing makes it worse (though I do that sometimes, too).0

Violent video games
Food
Sleep
Crying
Cutting0 -
I go one of two ways (sometimes both in a series)
1. Something physical that incorporates hard physical labor or exercise; nothing violent as that tends to increase my emotions
2. Some mind numbing vidio game, a walk or a good book0 -
Depends on what:
If its because of work (boss man, patients, co-workers, etc) a walk to my car and back will usually do the trick or a long trip to the farthest bathroom from me
If its home or school related then laying down listening to music in a dark room or a walk around the park or gym time
If it happens to be crappy day then I head to the gym for a lovely cardio workout and a sit in the sauna.
HOWEVER, if any of this happens on a Friday or Saturday then I head out for some drinks and a good time with friends.0 -
I have little stress in my life. I don't cope with stress, I deal with the source.
If there is something that calms me, it's knowing I have someone in my life I can turn to for another view.
I walk every day. People think it's for the exercise, but that's when I analyze what's going on in my life. I get some kind of inner-dialogue going. Usually see situations for what they are and eal with them when I get back.0 -
If I am sad, I like to go for a long walk. If I'm stressed I go to the gym and if I am angry I clean. Not sure why but if I'm angry my house will sparkle. Feeling fortunate that the husband hasn't caught on to that yet.0

If I can, I take a walk and listen to a podcast. I love RadioLab, The Moth, This Amercian Life, TED Radio--- I usually get so absorbed in the topics that it shifts my brain from what was stressing me out. I'll also take photos while I'm out because it's another way to set my thoughts on a different path.0

Wind therapy. Nothing better than jumping on the bike and going for a long ride on some back country roads. Time for introspection and working through the issue.0

I run. And I just keep on running till its all ok.
I just feel like RUN-NING......0 -
I try to go to the gym or run.
Or play music at criminal volumes.
Used to break down and buy cigarettes, but I have managed to break away from that one recently, hopefully never to return.0 -
I take a bigger dose of my blood pressure and anti depressants.0

Heavy bag and heavy metal.0
