hello, sorry i missed posting yesterday but my internet was down. nothing majorly exciting to report for friday, so i'll move on to yesterday. i woke up feeling good, and i jotted down some goals that i was to work towards to start leading a fuller, more happy life. i don't know if i will jump headfirst and try to do all of the goals at once, but just getting them down on paper made me feel good, and gave me something to work towards. in no particular order my "life goals" are:
1. wake up and do a 2 minute meditation to get myself in a positive state of mind and to start my day off right.
2. do some light stretching to limber and wake myself up.
3. weigh myself only on monday mornings.
4. have breakfast at home. no more eating breakfast out. if i know i have meetings, pack a cereal bar and some fruit, etc.
5. try not to have any dishes in the sink, so when i get home i have a nice clean place to make dinner, and i have no excuses to order out.
6. walk to work (15 minutes).
7. take tons of healthy snacks with me to work so that if i am hungry i have healthy options ready.
8. go for a short walk at lunch, even 5 minutes, just to regroup and get the blood flowing again. if it is raining, walk around the office.
9. sit at my desk or go outside and repeat to myself, "nothing will ever taste as good as being fit, helthy and happy feels. it's not worth it to binge." also repeat this anytime i have uncontrollable cravings.
10. maintain a positive attitude at work, and not let people's negativity bring me down.
11. try not to engage in office gossip or the putting down of other people. if they want to me join in the bashing, just ignore them and move the conversation elsewhere.
12. drink lots of water
13. have a cup of herbal tea if i need something warm in my stomach.
14. bring a healthy lunch to work everyday.
15. eat out lunch only once a month. try to choose a healthy option.
16. walk home from work. if i am up for it, take the long way and stop at the bench overlooking the harbour and reflect on what happened during the day. this will also help me avoid the store and dq.
17. do not bring money with me to work.
18. walk for at least 30 minutes every day after work.
19. 2 times a week walk for 50-60 minutes.
20. once a week walk for 90-120 minutes
21. do a fun activity on sundays like golfing, going to the swimming pool, playing tennis etc. something out of the ordinary, but still active.
22. no more fast food. ever. it is bad for me and makes me feel sick.
23. only watch 2 hours of TV a night. use music, reading and writing as more healthy alternatives.
24. lift weights 3 times a week, in a light upper body circuit.
25. do crunches and ab work 4 times a week
26. make my bed in the morning. i know i know, this a rebellious act that stems all the way back to junior high lol.. but i think it will help me get ready for the day ahead.
27. make sure dishes are washed before i go to bed so have somewhere to make a nice healthy breakfast.
28. write in my journal everyday and blog on mfp for support
29. do a short relaxation meditation every night before bed, so i can calm down and have a peaceful sleep.
30. document things i am grateful for that day, and also things that made me happy and in self esteem boosters i got througout the day.
so ya, alot of stuff, but they are thigns that i am working towards. right now i just sort of sluff my way through life, and every day blends into the next. i dont want to wake up when i am 70 (if i even make it that long) and think" where the hell did my life go?" i'm tired of coasting. i need to make an effort to have a more interactive and healthy life. one of my goals should also be to meet new people and enjoy spending time with friends etc.
31. meet new people and enjoy spending time with friends. make an effort to do something fun outside of work at least once a week.
so friday did not go well. i had dq, and it was technnically a binge, but i dont feel that bad about it because yesterday was really good, so i'm trying to focus on the positive. here is how it went:
breakfast:
1 cup oatmeal
1 banana
lunch:
1 tuna sandwhich on multigrain with i slice cheddar, and lettuce
snack:
2 small scoops of ice cream
snack:
1 80 calorie cheese stick
1 orange
supper:
1 300g steak
2 cups rice
mushroom sauce
so yes, it looks like it was a bad day, but not for me. yesterday was awesome. i walked for an hour, clocking almost 5k, i went out for lunch to a cafe, and got a healthy option. i walked right by the tim hortons and was this close to walking in and ordering a large blt and 2 donuts, but i just kept walking. at the cafe i did not have hot chocolate or any desserts. when i was getting groceries, i chose only healthy options. i treated myself to 2 small scoops of ice cream instead of buying a gallon and polishing it off. i had healthy snacks in the afternoon, and i cut my rice consumption by one cup, so i am happy for that. so here is the plan for today:
breakfast:
1 cup oatmeal
1 banana
snack:
1 yogurt
22 almonds
mini carrots
lunch:
roast beef sandwich on a white bun, small slice cheese and tomato with mustard
vegetable soup
1 cup skim milk
snack:
1 cheese stick
cucumber slices
1 apple sauce
supper:
3 small chicken thighs (4oz)
1 potato, mashed
steamed broccoli
1 tbsp bbq sauce
today is a long walking day for me, and i hope to walk for at least 1.5 hours, and i am trying for 10k, so i hope to go for about 2 hours.we'll see how that goes. i have been not too bad this past week, so hopefully this coming week with be the start of things to come. here we go!

I love your list of goals. Some sound easy, some sound hard, but they all sound manageable and that is what counts. I felt like I could have been reading my own list!
I really liked #9 and 10. A year ago I decided to cut negativity out of my life as much as possible. No gossip, no complaining, no "why me," no jealousy. I stopped reading gossip magazines or watching pretty much anything on E!. My rule was, if it doesn't make me feel good, I don't want any part of it. I also started keeping a journal to list five things every day that I was grateful for.
I have to say, the changes were ASTOUNDING and immediate. It was like I suddenly realized the whole world was mine for the taking, if I would just reach out and grab it. Just the simple act of recognizing all the things that I had to be grateful for opened up so many doors. I hope it will for you as well!
I'm also going to steal your 2-minute meditation morning idea!
Hang in there, you are an inspiration.0
