Eat To Live - Looking for friends

Doctor recently recommended that I adopt the Eat To Live eating lifestyle from Dr. Fuhrman. I would definitely like to have some friends that are eating a primarily plant based diet and/or are following this plan.

ps...I'm aware of the Eat To Live group on here, just posting this here to potentially grab any friends not in that group page.

Thanks!

Feel free to add me. I just stick to a balance healthy lifestyle that is mostly grains, veggie, fruit and some fish. I can provide support but don't follow any design lifestyle

Hi Bpas - My doctor recommended "Eat to Live to me a couple of years ago. I did quite well on it and lost 50 lbs. Unfortunately, I did not maintain and gained that all back, plus some. I am back at it again eating veggies/fruits as the base of my diet, but do modify it because if I feel I "can't" have something it triggers a desire in me to have it. I am also working out much more than I did in the past. I have have a copy of the book (and have read it) and recently purchased the cookbook and have tried some of the recipes there. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like - I log in every day and my diary is open.

Eat to Live has totally changed my attitude toward food. Would be glad to friend for support! I tried it two years ago but was in the middle of an adoption and just couldn't give it the focus it needed. Now I'm on week 6 and have lost 18 pounds.

Anyone care to give a brief synopsis of what Eat to Live means?

    Every day have the following:

    1 pound raw veggies
    1 pound cooked veggies
4+ fruits (but only 1 serving can be dried fruit)
    1 serving nuts/seeds
    1 serving complex carb
1 tbsp flaxseed (usually mixed into fruits or salad)

    No meats?

Sorry, not for me. I'm definitely an omnivore.

Meat is okay as a condiment. :) The key is to treat it that way. Alternatively, have a little more meat but do your best to have grass fed.

I follow this plan. It's been 60 days. I'm down 18 pounds, feel so much better, no sugar cravings, and I finally have energy. I'm getting so good at making yummy recipes. I would welcome buddies with same interests.
