Is Measuring/Weighing Foods Obsessive?

I have been measuring my foods, counting calories, etc. for the past month and my roommates look at me like I'm crazy...has anyone ever had people judge them similarly?

Also, I take about 2-3 hours out of my day to prepare my dinner, lunch for the next day, and snacks (choosing them, measuring them, preparing them, logging to MFP)....I feel like I spend too much time but I also feel like this is what will help me lose the weight (which it has a little so far!).

I think I just feel that no one around me is doing the same thing, so I feel obsessive...anyone else feel this way? :)

It takes me about 30 minutes. I don't like add a grain of rice at a time or anything, but I use the scale as a guide. For example if I want a 3oz serving 2.8-3.2 is close enough for me if it isn't high calorie food. I don't weigh vegetables. I am more concerned with large calories, not so much 5-10 calories of lettuce. I log it, but if I am off a couple not a big deal. 3 hours seems like you are being a perfectionist, which nothing wrong with that. Just at some point you can't spend that much time in your kitchen.

I do feel a bit OCD measuring everything out, but I use the copy function a lot in the app and then adjust the quantity, which cuts down the time without giving up the accuracy. 2-3 hours sounds like a lot, but that's your business quite frankly, and if it works for you without getting you stressed then what's the problem. I guess I take about 30 mins in total and I make most of my meals completely from scratch and spend quite a bit of effort in making them attractive and appetizing as well as fitting my macros.
