This is a question for the PT on MFP. Is it possible to establish an income that will support oneself? I enjoy fitness and am curious what is the reality/what it entails.

I personally make $2000 a month working VERY part time. One of my peers makes $6000 a month, but he's there from 5am to 1pm Mon-Fri.
If you suck at sales, that will be your downfall in PT. Also you have to be able to treat each client as if they were your only one. Feeling tired and down on any client takes away from what they are paying for you to do for them, so you have to be "up" all the time at work.
I love my job. Helping people achieve fitness and health is very rewarding not just in money, but the gratitude you get from those who lives you affect directly.

And how does one establish such a career? Certification at a local college? Does certification vary from state to state? Can you please advise?0
