Should I eat if I'm still hungry

So I was mega hungry tonight and went over by roughly 100 calories (nbd I know). Maybe it was T.O.M. that made me so ravenous, maybe it was the lack of vegetables in my diet today. I tried drinking water, waiting half an hour, I was not bored. It just made me wonder what you all personally think. If you're still hungry but you know you'll go over a little on calories, do you eat or stay hungry?

I would be interested to know the answer myself.0

I suppose it's fine to have extra one day and then balance it out with the rest of the week, but I'd to hear some other opinions myself.
I pre-logged what I want to eat for dinner later and looks like I'll be over by over a hundred calories, eesh.0 -
Were you under at all this past week? I was told you can average it out. If you are under you can go over. I hate going over but like you said you drank water, you are you are not bored to have a snack.0

Personally, I would eat. I like to look at the week in total. Some days I am above goal, others I am below, it evens out in the end. That being said, if I go over one day, I do not try to stay under the next day. TOM turns me into a ravenous beast. I can always tell when it's coming because of the increased appetite.
I am certain that others will have different approaches. This is what works for me.0 -
If you are truly hungry, eat. If you are worried about going over your calories, eat something low cal. Veggies of some sort?0
-
Normally, yes, I will eat if I'm still hungry because usually there is a good reason for it (low on calories prior days, body needs it for repair after a hard workout, etc).0

Oh, I ate. I had tuna on toast and it was the perfect amount of food to kill the hunger but not feel like I overate. I've been under every other day for roughly the last month, so I'm not really worried. I mostly wondered what other people would do.0

Try to wait 15 or 20 minutes. There's a lag time between the stomach and the brain. Then, if you're still hungry, maybe have another serving of veggies, or fruit for dessert.0

This is what I try to do. I also drink even more water and wait a bit. Usually then I am full.0 -
On days I could eat more then I do it and just reduce the calories from another day. In fact, I took my sons out for a belated Father's Day dinner tonight and went over my calories deficiency by 300 calories. I will reduce my calories by 100 over the next three days or do more exercises to make it up.0

I either have a glass of milk or a thing of yogurt. Just approximately 100 calories, plus or minus a bit. The protein satisfies enough to sleep well through the night. And I know it's an extra little boost of calcium and vitamin D.
That usually is enough. But if I were still truly hungry, I'd eat. I'm trying to lose weight reasonably, I'm not trying to over-ride the natural signals my body is sending me.0 -
I try not to... by distracting myself with water or occupying my time with something else to take my mind off it but if I really can't because I'm genuinely hungry, then yes, I eat0

I don't I find that when I'm hungry that is when the scale tends to move. I eat small meals or snacks every few hours though so if I'm hungry I only have to wait a little while before eating anyway. Only exception for me is before bed. I can't sleep if I'm hungry so maybe a yogurts or cup of cottage cheese and lots of water0

The way I see it, especially considering what you said about waiting and drinking more water, I'd rather eat. Preferably something high in protein like a can of tuna or something and try harder to stay on target the next day.0

If its after 8pm that I go over I will just go to bed hungry. If I go over earlier than 8pm, then I'll go ahead and eat something, then just make sure I'm under the next day to balance it out. I've also done evening work-outs just so I can eat. Like day I had a big lunch and was hungry again around 6ish, I only had about 200 calories remaining for dinner. So I grabbed my MP3 player and took an hour walk. Then I was able to have dinner and still be under my count.0

There is no way to lose weight without feeling some hunger pangs. You're set up with MFP for eating so many calories to lose, and while there will be days you won't try to make certain that most of your days are at or a little below your daily calorie goal. If you're already 100 over I wouldn't recommend eating more.
The good news is that once your brain and stomach get used to less calories they will adjust and the hunger pangs will subside.
What I try to get in, is a tablespoon of all natural peanut butter with honey, I like the Skippy soft, as a snack during the day, and that's a great help for me to get thru the rest of the day without feeling hungry. I am certain there's lots of other tips you'll get.0 -
Your daily calorie goal is a goal you should be reaching, It is something you aim for.
It is not good to be under and it is not good to be over.
Remember it has a deficit already you do not need to add more.
But a 100 cal difference for one day isn't that bad overall. You are still in deficit.0 -
Yes you can eat if you are hungry but as per my suggestion first eat few things to keep yourself hunger free. Then after sometime you can eat some more, eating in gaps are more beneficial then eating once at a time.0

I eat and if I go over a little on my calories, I don't try to eat less the next day. I usually have some nuts when this happens. I think it's very important to listen yo your body - if it's genuine, physical hunger, feed it, but don't go overboard!0

If I'm going to be under for the week and I'm not planning on a big weekend then I would eat. Otherwise I stay hungry. Unless it is TOM then I eat. Mostly because nothing satisfies me during that week/couple of days before. Of course I regret it later because of the bloat but it's gone within a couple of days.0
