Calories and distance vs. speed

Here's something I'm trying to figure out: if I'm travelling a fixed distance (let's say a mile), what difference - if any - does my speed have on calories burnt? Would a leisurely walk burn less than brisk one, even though the brisk walk will get me there sooner (and therefore be less time spent exercising)? Would a jog burn more than a walk?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks all for your help!

    Based on MFP...if I walk 1 mile

    2mph = 87 calories
    2.5mph = 83 calories
    3 mph = 76 calories
    3.5mph = 75 calories
    4mph = 87 calories
    4.5mph = 95 calories

    Jogging
    10min mile = 115 calories

    So is there a difference...small...when walking and jogging really doesn't add a whole lot to a brisk walk...
