Best way to measure spinach or salad

Trying to figure out best way to measure this. What exactly is a cup of Spinach? I have a measuring cup, but the amount in the cup all depends on how much I crush it down into the cup like a garbage dispenser. I can put a lot of spinach in one cup this way. Tks

A kitchen scale is going to be really the only accurate way to measure foods that aren't liquids that you can pour into a measuring cup. Spinach is obviously going to be innaccurate measured in cups but then again so are a lot of solid foods.

If you don't want to get or use a scale then you can at least rest assured that you probably aren't going to be breaking the bank in terms of calories with spinach no matter how far off you are.

    I weigh it.

I usually use about 40 grams of spinach for a salad.

    ^ what he said!

ps. if you're measuring everything in cups, then your calorie count is going to be wayyy out anyway!

Yup. Weigh it. 85 grams = 2 cups.
