So I'm pregnant and my goal is to not gain 60 lbs like I did the last time. I was really hoping to have lost more before getting pregnant again but instead I'm starting at almost the exact same place I did the first time I was pregnant. I'm a little worried already though...I've already gained 3 lbs!!! I am making it my goal starting today to really keep track of what I'm eating and do my best to eat clean during this pregnancy. I want another healthy baby that will have a good start because I ate correctly during my pregnancy.
So I'm looking for other friends that are pregnant too, or ones that can keep me motivated while pregnant with advice and such. So please add me!
I've loved this site so far and I just have to get back into using even to just maintain for now and have it ready for me when I'm ready to lose the baby fat again!!!

I'm not pregnant and never had a child, but a small part of my motivation in losing weight right now is so that I will be healthy when I have children in the future.
I have done a bit of research in regards to diet and exercise while pregnant. Some say to eat 200 calories above maintenance to sustain nutrients for your unborn child. However, I agree with what most doctors and medical websites recommend, which is to eat up to maintenance calories and do light exercise, such as walking.
Another idea is to speak with your OB/GYN or general practitioner and see what they suggest.0 -

I actually didn't gain much during my pregnancies until I ended up on bedrest from overdoing it the first time, complications the second time...so...
1) Keep active. Steady level, nothing crazy, but just keep active. Walking, etc.
2) Continue to stretch as long as you're able to.
3) Keep meals small but balanced so you're less likely to chuck
4) I did VERY VERY VERY light weights to keep my strength up (talking 5 lb wts).
5) Drink lots of fluids -- water, milk, etc. This'll keep you hydrated.
6) Get a good prenatal vitamin as soon as possible.
Check with your doctor as far as restrictions, etc. Do not do ANYTHING that they haven't approved for you to do.
Good luck to you! Congratulations!0 -
Congratulations! I was overweight for both my pregnancies and my biggest reason for working so hard on my weight loss is so that I can be healthier for my next baby. I had gestational diabetes with my second pregnancy so I had all kinds of motivation to eat healthy. I've kept a lot of those same habits and I know it's helping me a lot. I'll be happy to add you as a friend and will offer as much help and support as I can!0
