Fluctuating or Settling?

So I have lost 8.5 lbs since starting MFP (I know the ticker only says 2). But after I lost it and got down to 133.5, I went back up to 135.5. Is this just a fluctuation or my body settling, or did I gain it back? I've been working out and doing everything I was before but can't seem to drop from 135.5 and it's been a couple weeks now. It's just a tad bit annoying. Any help or advice is much appreciated!

It is fluctuation. Give it time and you'll be fine.0

Thanks. I guess I just needed some reassurance from someone other than myself0

So most folks see a loss and want to assume that it's fat and it's gone forever but most of the time the quickest changes on the scale are just water weight as your body adjusts to new diet and exercise routines. Just average stuff out over a few weeks rather than pinning all your hopes on the lowest number you've seen on the scale and you'll be fine.
Personally I'm eating well and exercising often so I know I'm not going to put back on any fat right now so when the number goes up I just assume that it's a little extra water I get to hang onto for a few days.0 -

I guess I was just excited about losing that I ASSUMED it was actual fat. Thanks that's really helpful.0 -
I know, we all sort of do the same thing. It will eventually all be fat loss, and part of it certainly was, but add a little wiggle room to keep sane. I have had the scale drop a few pounds just taking a few days off working out. If you start going crazy with the number on the scale stuff like that will make you think not working out makes you lose weight rather then rested muscles retain less water.0
