Adding weight training into daily calories?

Im just curious, as ever since Ive started using MFP i have the tendency to log my cardio by adding the full amount the elliptical/treadmill says and only eating half back since I know they are grossly overestimated. I Lift heavy 3-4 days a week for around an hour but have never added it as calories burned. I only take 45-60 seconds between sets or supersets on average and love supersetting everything i can to feel like im constantly in a battle to finish my workout. I guess my question is, would lifting heavy in itself burn enough calories to be worth notating on MFP or should i stick to only adding half of my cardio. I eat about 2050 calories right now at 6'5"

Personally I just look at lifting as a means of getting strong and shaping the body. Clearly there are calories burned while lifting weights but there is no standard for how to lift weights and no accommodation for the specific resistance a person is working at so the estimates for calories burned are going to be less than worthless.
The answer to the question you didn't ask, "how do I tell if I am reporting the right number of calories burned?" is simply by tracking the weight lost per week and if it doesn't match up to what you should be losing then you probably want to raise or lower the calories you do report burning as needed.0 -
Fair enough, I am about on track with the weight loss so I am happy where things are going, it just made me curious because lately ive seen a few people adding resistance training as cardio so they can increase their calories. I guess a HRM would help estimate some extra calories burned.0
