Mystery injury & disheartened :(

Just over a week ago I started pains & swelling in my ankle. No trauma to the ankle. Had an x-ray yesterday & no fracture but my GP says it does seem to be the bone that's the problem. They've took a blood test & are talking about gout. I'm really disheartened because I was doing really well keeping up with the exercise & now I feel like I'm going to be back at square one :'(

Is this the same ankle that you injured on the trampoline? Gout sounds unlikely. Have you tried ice?
  • I don't actually know if the trampolining caused the pain or just alerted me to it. I was fine until I got on the trampoline & did 2 or 3 bounces, I noticed it was sore & got off. I've tried ice & using a support but nothing helps. Even painkillers won't mask the pain. If there's pressure put on my ankle bone it feels like there's a knife going through it. I thought gout was unlikely as well since 1. I'm only 25 & 2. it doesn't run in the family x

It could be a fracture not detected by an x-ray. Ask your doctor for an MRI or bone scan.

I had a stress fracture in my foot that did not show up on an x-ray.
  • Going to speak to the doctor midweek to officially discuss my x-ray & hopefully get some answers. Woke up yesterday & it felt as if it was starting to improve but over the course of the day it just seems to worsen. In agony this morning & pretty fed up :(
