Sometimes I'm under my caloric goal but over on fat, sugar, or carbs. Does this matter? I'm trying to lose weight btw

Calories are what matter for weight loss (barring any medical conditions).
Macros (fat, protein, carbs) help with general health, body composition, hunger, etc. For instance, protein helps to repair and retain your lean muscle mass. Fat helps to balance your hormones, helps with brain function, cell regrowth, healthy skin & nails, etc. And carbs give you energy.
You can balance your macros however you like and still see weight loss as long as you're in a calorie deficit. How you balance them should depend on your health, fitness, and body goals.0 -

Now once you get down and seek other things you want you body to look like such as a 6 pack and other things...then you may have to look at that stuff more closely0 -
You can change your macro goals if you wish. Otherwise, don't worry about it too much for now.0

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you haven't, try to get the calories down--like others have said, that's what will cause weight loss. But if you feel hungrier than you'd like the macros are one place to look when experimenting with what might work better. If you are low on something and high on something else, maybe try switching it up to try and fix that. Also, after you have the calories down see if there's a consistent pattern in the others--for example, consistently low on protein, and then you can think about whether you care. You can also set your own goals (I switched mine up to fit better with what keeps me satisfied and because I thought my protein goal was a little low), but that's more something to play around with to see what works for you than really needed to lose weight.0
