Not trying to be a smartass...was just the first thing that came to mind!0 -
Spend your evenings trolling on the internet. Eventually, on a long enough timeline, friend happens.0

I have a 15yo son with Aspergers, he is very much like Sheldon Cooper. So yeah, I have a soft spot for Shelly...lol0 -
Might I suggest you grow a beard? Oh there are many fine styles to choose from.0

Wow. Like this post and makes me feel normal again.
Friends. At my age, 55, have become a select few.
My husband of 28 years, my dog, my brother and 2 close girlfriends.
I know probably 40-50 women...but no, just no.
I finally decided that "phony" friendships are not for me.
Others do not understand this, do I care ? Not even.
I think most women feel the same way as I do but afraid of drawing a line...
I am sure glad I did.0 -

Your 18? Do you go to college? You can definitely make new friends there. Just make small talk with them and maybe have a study session with some people and get to know them. BAM, instant friends!
I know most college kids are on summer break right now, but your college might have summer classes you can take or you can take one at a local community college too.
Try the PAWS thing and also try libraries too. Maybe try meetup.com? But yeah craigslist is a bad idea lol.0 -
Okay so all my friends just wanna puff the magic dragon and party with this girl Molly. I'm not about that life to be honest. I would rather stay in and watch a few documentaries, hit up the zoo or aquarium, or go to the gym. I end up doing those things alone most of the time. How can I make new friends? I was thinking of hitting up Barnes & Noble or signing up for volunteer work at PAWS to meet new people. I thought about Craigslist but I really don't feel like getting violated in some dark alley. I'm 18 so I can't go to bars yet.
Socialising sites is full on the web, meet up just type it and join any group you want are all over the world, gym is fine and any library that offers groupto learn another language or book discussion they usually organise to watch movies together as well0 -

Do something new that attracts the kind of people you want to hang with. the rest will take care of itself.
This.
Also, don't be shy about doing things alone. You might find that you really enjoy it. AND the bonus will be meeting new friends who enjoy similar activities. I find that when I am alone, more random people talk to me than when I am with a friend or my husband. I'm not talking about being hit on, bothered by annoying people, or asked to buy something in a store. But just random people who chat for a minute and may share something funny or interesting. It happens, just be open to it!
I think volunteering or joining a club is a good idea too. Some people promote that stuff as a way to meet a boyfriend/girlfriend which I'm sure could happen too, but I think those are best as ways to meet new friends. Good luck!0 -
