Hello all of you awesome people! Posting here again as I always love to hear what you all think!
I am just about to finish the 30 Day Shred, and I've been doing it every day for the past month, except one day when I had an interview. I will be going on Ripped in 30 after this.
Should take a break first, before starting? I feel almost guilty for not doing exercise because all my life I didn't do it. Another worry is that I won't have the state of mind to start another program if I take a break. I am just finding it hard to keep up, because I do the workout in the morning before I do anything in the day. I find myself getting tired later anyway. Isn't this supposed to give me more energy?

It it were me, I'd HAVE to have a break. I'd set aside a week, personally, to eat at maintenance and exercise lightly - nothing to strenuous.
I always find I get tired later on if I workout in the morning. I think it's because my body is used to exercising in the afternoon/evening and the shock to the system makes me tired. I don't know if I could go 30 days with only a one day break - I'm in dance rehearsals for a music video right now and even we have at least a day off a week.
If you don't take a break, won't your motivation die mid way through Ripped in 30 because of tiredness? I know that would happen to me.0 -
I just finished a 90 day program. I'm doing a break, but instead of not working out, I'm doing the elliptical or running.
Normally I would do a yoga/stretch week but I want to start a PiYo program next week, so I feel like that's not really a "break."0 -
I don't think a break is necessary. Unless you feel that your body needs it, I would keep at it. I work out (different body parts and intensities) 6-7 times weekly and don't break unless my body needs it (colds, flus, hangovers [lol] etc...)
Most importantly: CONGRATS on sticking it out. I find all JM workouts torturous and only do them once a week in my rotation (in class with a yelling instructor) and anyone who can do that for 30 days is a true champ in my eyes!!!
GL on your journey!0 -

I think you should take a break. A little rest is a good and necessary thing. Maybe take just a couple days before starting a new program.
Also regarding your energy level: Are you eating enough? Having low energy may be your body's way of telling you its not getting enough fuel.0
