Hi All
I have an underactive Throid and have had for 11 yrs, 5 years ago I weighed 308lbs and I paid for a Gastric bypass, FF to now and I weigh 240lbs with severe anaemia and I have to have iron transfusions. I was speaking to the gastroentroligist regarding my thyroid and he says that I may just never drop the weight as I am on such a high dose of thyroxine (250mcg pd), even though my bloods say that my thyroid is within limits.
Anyone else suffering this problem and have you succeeded to lose the weight?
I net 1600-1800 cals per day and workout 6 times per week at the gym 3 times with a PT. This has been my routine for 14weeks and I have lost 20lbs and 6 inches from my hips.
Give me some hope please

You're losing weight, the only issue here is your impatience.0 -
I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease) and take Synthroid & Cytomel. I lost just like everybody else—by logging everything I eat & drink accurately & honestly.

20 pounds in 14 weeks is fabulous. I lost 40 but it has taken me years, partly because my numbers were horrible and it took sometime to get back to "normal". Are you getting enough selenium and vitamin D? These are both very important to health and mood for us with hypo active thyroids.0
