I overate. Shd I compensate by eating less over the week?

My weekly goal is to lose 2 Lbs. My calories goal is 1430.

Yesterday I ate 3307 and burned 792. So NET I ate is 2515 which is 1085 excess. My maintain calories are 2430.

Should I burn that excess 1085 over the week or just leave it and continue fresh today?

Just log it and move on. *kitten* happens.

Don't be overly restrictive to make up for overeating, as it tends to just lead to more overeating.

Really, you only ate less than 100 calories over maintenance. Tack an extra 100calorie burn somewhere, or just let it ride. It is only one day. Your weekly deficit is still very sufficient for a loss.

Also, looking at your weight loss ticker, with only 24lbs left to lose, I would say that a 2lb/week weight loss goal is mighty aggressive for some/many of us. If you're finding yourself eating more than your goal too often, you may want to change to a 1lb/week goal to get a higher average of calories every day. Just my two cents, but something to consider if the "splurges" happen more often than not.:flowerforyou:

I'm going to try to exercise more this week to make up for my food heavy day (since that's how WW works and I'm currently transitioning).
But I'm also not going to beat myself up about it if I can't exercise enough to compensate. And I'm also going to make sure to get at least the 1200 cal min in (though that is not my typical goal).

    This.

If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal
If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal
If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal

I sure as hell wouldn't. It's only 100 calories over maintenance, so it's not like you'll see any noticeable fat gain from it. Just continue on as you normally do.

I typically eat around maintenance on weekends (2000-2200/day), but my deficit during the week (1650/day) still allows me to lose weight pretty much every week.

I wouldn't beat yourself up over it OP, I'd let it slide and move on to the next best day.

We all became overweight in the first place by having many days of going over our maintenance calories, and often much more higher than just 100 calories. One day of 100 calories over maintenance isn't going to kill you, 365 days going over 500 will, that's what I was doing if not worse before I started counting.

Going over your maintenance by just 100 calories doesn't seem so bad anymore does it?>

In addition to previous posters mentioning that it's only 100 calories over your maintenance so don't worry about it, I'd also reassess your overall weightloss goals as far as lbs per week goes. 2lbs per week is pretty aggressive unless you have a lot of weight to lose. Drastic deficits can lead to restrict and binge cycles, moderation and consistency is usually a more sustainable route.

Thanks everybody. I was thinking so many combinations in my head since morning for how to compensate. But now I have decided to move on.

Also to people saying 2 lbs is too aggressive. I also thought in the beginning that eating only 1450 calories will be very difficult. But I included running 6kms daily in my routine and walking 2-3kms. So I am getting to eat around 2250 calories:smokin: daily which is nice.

    cheers

Yeah netting 1450 calories and totaling 1450 calories are two VERY different things.
