Single Mom changing lifestyle

Hello all,

I am reaching out to this website to help me lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle. I just completed my first year of teaching and have found that I am at my heaviest now. I am very depressed about it and I know it's because of that new Mc Donalds that is less than a block from my house (Just kidding, but the McDonalds is that close). I really need motivation and simple ideas to get started. Thank you for reading and add me as a friend!

Hey! Welcome to MFP. You've taken the first step in finding a healthier you. Just make sure you're honest with yourself. :) You've got this!
  • The easiest thing you can do is add a 30 minute walk into your routine the fresh air will make you feel so much better it may not burn as many calories as other activities but it can be a great time to reflect. Also if it's a day where you really, really don't want to exercise (we all have those days once in a while) it will get you moving.

Also like davis_em said be honest with yourself and things will go well.

As far as eating healthy is concerned just do your best and get lots of vegetables into your diet they fill you up without throwing your caloric intake out the window. And if you're a "but I don't like veggies person" try and try again everyone likes some vegetables. This was never a problem for me though. My favourite food as a kid was broccoli and I think that is really all that needs to be said.

If you ever want someone to talk to about meal ideas or anything of the like feel free to add me.
