exercise advice

ok I am limited on my movement so I cant exercise alot. My walking is limited and my balance is off as well. So I recently bought a treadmill and Im walking 20 mins each day (4 days to be exact as of today) because I have to hold on cause of the balance thing i cant incline alot i cant incline past a 5.0 safely if i go up to a 6.0 i get wobbly and cause of the pain and lesions on my legs my movement is slow like a 1.5-2.0. so i want to do this safe but i want it to be worth it.

what else can i do? I need to have surgery to remove these lesions and they want me to lose weight.

    Can you do upper body movements? maybe just overhead presses with your arms? Could you swim as that isn't weight bearing, or maybe just walk in a pool? Every little but counts so if you are walking slowly its better than nothing!
