How is it possible for my weight to fluctuate so much?

I wanted to put out what I read on the cnn site. The article is titled the subject of this topic - but this is an excerpt from the article:

Another reason may be due to the fact that training muscles, especially if you are new to weight lifting, causes micro tears in the muscle, which is how muscle is built. This can lead to fluid retention in the muscle itself for a couple of days.

There are a few reasons on there. It was news to me and I know that was always a question on my mind so I figured it might be on someone else's as well. Hope that is helpful to someone else as it was to me.

There really are a lot of reasons for weight to fluctuate. It's why I weigh daily so I can see the trends. It is kind of cool (to me because I am a number geek) to see how different work outs, eating habits and monthly cycle can impact my scale weight. For instance, at a lower deficit (250 kcals a day) the only time I actually see the scale number drop is the week before TOM starts. This is something that I only know from daily weigh-ins.
