Running shoes?

For starters, I am a beginning runner, but doing research and trying to find the right running shoe for me is proving to be very challenging.

Why?

Because when I was 12, I fell down a flight of stairs and injured my left foot. I injured it badly enough that while I have a high arch and underpronate on my right foot, my left foot has very little arch and overpronates. Which makes for almost needing opposite types of running shoe for both feet. I am currently using a neutral shoe, but was wondering if there were any better options for someone with feet like mine. Any advice would be awesome.

Almost seems like you need to get two pairs so you can get the proper shoe for each foot. Neutral or minimal would be an option as well.

Sounds like neutral shoes with orthotics might be what you need.

Minimalist might be an option as well, as they tend to force proper form.

Thanks for the input. :) As soon as I get a few more hours at work I'll head to my local runners store and take a look. At least for now my existing shoes should be alright since I am still on slow and short distances.
