Binging- but at a low weight?

Lately I've been going over a lot what with special occasions and stuff. By a lot I mean 1600-1700cal instead of my normal 1200-1400cal range. Today, however, I went way over, and am still going, and I may even hit the 3,000 mark. I feel guilty, and I'm wondering if this prolonged yo-yo eating will affect my weight? Sometimes I'll eat way under to compensate. Would that balance it out? I'm an 18 year old female, 5'6", and 118lbs.

That can lead to EDs. And they are not fun. Yes, bingeing and then using compensatory behaviors can have an effect on your weight.

love, don't worry about your weight. Don't worry about what you eat. Enjoy life and food and friends and be happy. It's sometimes easier said than done, but it's something that i wish i could do.

You are 18 and not over-weight by any means. Why are you worrying about your weight? If you just stop restricting yourself so much you will probably be less likely to have binges in the future. This kind of mentality will not lead to positive body image or good eating habits. Don't obsess over a bad day (or week, month, etc.) - learn and move on.

By the way, going over by 200-300 calories is not a binge. I do that almost everyday, and still manage to maintain and even lose some weeks. You can call it a binge when you have consumed all your daily calories (and then some) in one sitting , OR if you go over your calorie allotment by more than 1000.
  • Ah, thank you, everyone. I started at 150lbs, even tipping sometimes at 160, so going to 118 and binging so much makes me scared of gaining it all back.
