Running and weight fluctuations

To those of you who run, how does this impact on your daily weight fluctuations?
If your weight seemingly plummets, is this a sign you're not drinking enough? I don't feel under-hydrated, but I know I did not lose 3 lb overnight... Maybe I need to force myself to drink more water anyway?
Never had any issues with 'water weight' but now I've upped my running, I'm finding it harder to understand real/temporary loss.
