so i have officially lost 75 pounds! i am proud of my self and need to lose 15 more pounds. But i really thought it would feel different to be skinny. i guess i always thought that once im skinny i would automatically be happy, but thats not true. i still feel really insecure sometimes and get really down on my self. Am i the only one who has felt this, cause i feel like i am. im having alot of trouble getting the motivation to lose the rest of the weight cause i feel it pointless cause it wont make me happy. any one else have the same problem?

Congratulations.
It seems you do feel different. You said you're proud of yourself, were you as proud of yourself 75 lbs ago? I doubt it. And surely you would be very unhappy if you woke up tomorrow 75 lbs heavier.
So, why wouldn't you think you're happier now than you were then?
Also, skinny people have insecurities and get down on themselves. Carrying around a lot of extra weight day-in and day-out may not be one of the problems skinny people suffer from, but it's also not a problem you suffer from anymore either. And that must be quite a relief for you, yes?0 -

I've lost a little over 40lbs and I feel the same way. I look at myself in the mirror and I don't feel like I look any better, so I just get really down on myself and get depressed. Anytime I try to take a picture I look at my face and feel like it doesn't look any different. It has made me cry a few times. I still have around 20lbs to go and I have been on a plateau for a few weeks now even though I haven't been eating any differently, so I am starting to get worried that I'll never lose those last 20lbs.0 -
That's actually very common. It's one reason why I think happiness shouldn't really be the goal, because you're still you no matter what you weigh. It would probably be very helpful for you to focus now more on learning to love yourself than losing those last few pounds.. you've come so far and you obviously had the drive. I can't believe that's only reason you managed such a feat!
I've struggled with this issue for a huge portion of my life. The biggest difference that's ever been made for me has not been losing weight, but just loving myself as I am. It's a constant process, but try your best - you can take yourself out on dates, switch to doing activities you like for exercise instead of it being a huge chore (dancing for me!).. And surround yourself with people who don't put all their focus on weight loss. Finding various communities online that focus on things like body acceptance and health at every size can be quite useful. Focus on taking care of yourself emotionally, not just physically. It will get better, I promise. If you switch the goal to something like doing it for your health, I think you might have better luck. I try to make that my biggest focus. It's slowly helped with the body dysmorphia, which I suffer from quite badly, and I don't want to see others head down that road!0 -
Be proud of what you have achieved be proud and happy that you have become a healthier person and are looking after your body to the best of your ability !
You could try make a list of reasons apart from weight of why you could be feeling down and work on the things you can change, pick one thing at a time and just take little steps.
You should def make a list of reasons you are happy like you have came so far weight wise, that you are healthy, a beautiful person etc.
If you can go for walks where there is a lot of nature about don't put head phones in just enjoy the natural sounds and take in everything around you, that always makes me feel better when I can see and appreciated what a beautiful world I live in and that im privileged enough to be able to experience it0
