Let's see if I can do this again

So in the beginning of 2013 I started working out regularly, eating right, and using this wonderful site. By June I had lost 17 lbs. But then my husband and I were both laid off from our jobs and had to move in with his parents and all motivation to do anything was lost. It was a blow for me to do that and I became depressed. I was able to get another job and it was pretty active but I wasn't eating right at his parents house anymore. Then I got laid off from that job and the job after that was a sit down all day type job. And that's where the pounds really starting coming back. I only exercised sporadically but it's not enough.
So now, I'm tired of this again. I'm basically back up to where I used to be and I hate that. Plus, I signed up to do tough mudder in october and I realized I can't even lift myself very much and I'm going to need to to complete that course. So I'm back on the horse. Starting fresh. Things are changing in my life and it's time to buckle down and do things right. The hardest part isn't the exercise. It's eating right. But hopefully, things will be good this time. So here's to a new day and a new life!!

If drop the weight once you can do it again. You already sound motivated and just need to build on the great habits for long term success.
You can do it

Just a bump in the road!
You sound very strong, and you know, life happens.
Once you get your groove back it'll be really worth it, even jump starting yourself is hard at first.0 -
Ditto on the "you can do it!" Remember on those difficult days to NOT beat yourself up if you slip a little now and then. We're here and ready with supporting words and ideas.0

I'm in a similar boat, only much worse!! About 2.5 years ago, I lost 35 lbs....long story short - I've gained it back, plus about an extra 20 lbs. I could give you the story and excuses, but my new mantra is "No More Excuses" so suffice it to say my biggest problem has been getting discouraged and giving up. Anyway, I'm now determined to stop making excuses and slowly work my way back to a healthier, happier me. I'm hoping with some MFP motivation, I won't get derailed this time. Good luck on your journey, and feel free to message me if you need a motivation partner!!0

I'm in the same boat. I lost a lot of weight for my wedding and my marathon. Since then I had been complacent and gained back some of the weight. Then, in February, my best friend passed away unexpectedly and I compensated for my broken heart with lots of comfort food. And I mean LOTS! (I think if you summed up my eating habits at that time it would be "Any pizza is a personal pizza if you're man enough!")
So, after healing enough to deal with the world, I am exercising regularly and counting every calorie I eat. It's not an easy road the second time around, but it's better than not doing anything to better myself.
But look at us, recognizing our problem and working to fix it! Go all of us!
Anyway, feel free to add me and I will provide encouragement!0 -
