Hypo-thyroidism

I'm new to this site & looking for guidance on how to lose weight with Hypo-Hypothyroidism.
I'm 50 yrs old & had my thyroid out 4 yrs ago.
Since then, I've gained 20 lbs and can't take it anymore.
I'm generally active. Try to walk/job at least 3 x a week.
Work 2 jobs...so I'm constantly active.
I'm not perfect, but try to maintain a good diet.
Although...I'll be honest. I like to enjoy a couple glasses of throughout the week to relax.
5 ft tall....180 lbs
112 mg Levothyroxine
HRT daily (although I just learned today that you not suppose to take together with thyroid)
Would of been nice if the Dr or pharmacist told me that...Ugh
Anyone have any words of wisdom or knowledge to help me along?
Thx!!

You might have time to add more exercise. Strength training is a suggestion.
Yoga or Tai Chi would be good too.0 -
Definitely try to take your thyroid meds with nothing else. It was recommended for me to try taking it at 3-4 in the morning. I'm usually on a bathroom run around that time anyway. Apparently these meds work best on a completely empty system, earl in the day!
I just completed c25k and lost nothing during this time period!0 -
I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease). I lost way more slowly than most MFPers, so be patient. But I did it just like everybody else—by logging everything I eat & drink accurately & honestly.
The advice in this post worked for me: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-Sexypants
MFP has two thyroid groups:
