Sorry, I'm confused. You weren't waiting to use the machine, right? So... someone sitting on a machine that nobody needed is a reason you are considering not going to a gym.

    Well.

    I see.
if you were bothered by people sitting on equipment, imagine how put off the people sitting on machines were by someone not even dressed to work out that was walking around looking at them and judging their actions

I actually just signed up for a gym membership today.
I love the gym, great people wonderful staff. but I was scared by the amount of muscle men at the machines.
The lady told me that they are Always extremely busy at that time. So I will be going at midnight when theres barely people there.

So with that being said, it might have been high peak time at the gym, if you like the gym and what they have to offer than go for it!
But maybe look at alternative times were you can go..

    Goodluck!
    OHNOES, muscle men.

Nothing is going to be perfect at a gym. If they're not using a machine tell them to move their butts so you can use it, they'll move. As far as kids in a gym, most won't allow them around the machines.

If you don't like the atmosphere, find a Jazzercise or Zumba class in your area. Then if your girlfriend decides she doesn't want to workout, you've got others there you can workout with.

I don't want to have to ask hordes of boys to move out of my way, either, so I work out at home.

I enjoy making teenage boys feel uncomfortable.

Specifically when they are overstepping their bounds and trying to do the whole 'i are man' thing.

Kids don't realize that social niceties are optional.

Tell you what. Next time you go to the gym, I want you to wear two pair of leg sleeves with no BVDs.

On top, something nice and conservative - perhaps sweats or board shorts.

Underneath, you gotta have you on a pair of 1970s NBA shorty-short nuthuggers.
Them kids give you any side-eye, you drop off the long johns and then give 'em the full Cap'n Morgan.

When their wide and dewy eyes catch a sight of your saggin' 20-year-old coinpurse, they'll give you a wide berth. I PROMISE.

Some gyms have free memberships for kids aged 12+ during the summer. Then they go back to school in the fall. Summer is only a couple months.

The muscle men are there to make dem muscles, not to judge you. They don't even realize you're there. Don't let your personal insecurity force you to work out at inconvenient times for no reason at all.

Couldn't agree more, I went in all nervous initially, but most of them give you advice and just respect the fact you're there to do the same thing as them. We all start somewhere, in the next 5 years you could be as big or bigger one of the strong guys.
